The Society is planning a comprehensive trip to Crete with Tailored Travel (who organised our recent trip to Bologna).  We will fly direct to Chania from Gatwick with Easyjet and stay in a five star location at Anemos Luxury Grand Resort for six nights on a half board basis. We will use an executive coach to travel around with a local guide in attendance.

We will have the opportunity to see the extensive ruins of Aptera and the Souda War Cemetery before continuing to the Samaria Gorge and then Chania. On the second day we will focus on the Minoan era by visiting Armeni, the Palace of Phaistos and then the Royal Villa of Agia Triada. Saturday will see us visiting the Minoan palace of Knossos followed by a guided tour of Heraklion and the places of interest in the capital city.

Sunday will be a day of rest at the resort before travelling around to Margaritas, the Melidoni Cave, the area of Eleftherna and the old town of Rethymnon on the following day. We return to Chania Airport on Tuesday to fly back to Gatwick.

The cost will be £1144 with a single supplement of £199 and will include all trips, entrance fees, gratuities and headsets. We hope to be able to take up to 40 people

This trip is now full. If you wish to go on the waiting list please contact the organiser. James Astbury
