We are now 40 years old! Through lectures, visits and study days, the society aims to promote knowledge and apprecition of all aspects of art. The lecturers and guides are outstanding, engaging and extremely knowledgeable.

LECTURES We offer ten lectures a year to our members. The lectures are selected from the subjects offered by the 360 lecturers who have earned a place on the accredited list of The Arts Society.  Subjects range from Art and Architecture, to Music, Textiles and Social History. Recent examples include The Beatles and the Art World, John Singer Sargent: The Private Radical and The Brilliance of Brunel. Each lecturer is an expert in their field, well used to engaging with their audience.  Feedback from our members is consistently very  positive.

COMMUNITY GIVING  Our society provides funds to assist people of all ages and backgrounds to learn more about art. You can see some examples of what has been created in the Community Giving Gallery.

VISITS The visits team generally organise 3 day trips a year. We travel by coach from Beaconsfield Old Town and engage guides with specific knowledge of visited venues. Time is allowed for coffee on arrival and a light lunch. We have a core of regular friendly supporters and welcome new members as participants on our outings. 

TOURS take members abroad where we can see the art, architecture and history in situ and learn more from an accompanying guide. It’s also an opportunity to travel with friends and make new friends. Each tour is organised by a member of The Arts Society Beaconsfield committee, together with a help of a professional tour company and a qualified guide, to ensure that the visit will run smoothly.

STUDY DAYS  These aim  to study a subject in more depth than an hourly programme lecture.Subjects are varied, ranging from garden design, to porcelain, to cities and their architecture and art. The day consists of three one-hourly sessions, with breaks for coffee and lunch. These events are held in the Fitzwilliams Centre in Beaconsfield, and are very popular, as they are fun as well as informative. The lecturers themselves are engaging and extremely knowledgeable in his/her field.
